In the News: State honors older workers from KC area

FirstLine Transportation Security Officers Virender Kumar, 67, and Patricia Townsend, 72, were recently nominees in the 18th annual Missouri Older Worker Contest sponsored by several state organizations that advocate work force development for aging employees.The contest rewards employees aged 55 and older for dependability, loyalty, new-skill development and self-motivation. Congratulations to Virender and Patricia.

In the News: FirstLine's KCI operations are picked for airport employee screening test

Kansas City International Airport is one of seven the Transportation Security Administration selected for airport employee screening pilot programs required by the Omnibus Appropriations Act, which Congress passed in January. KCI will take part in a pilot program for enhanced security screening. In a release Monday, the TSA said the program will include random screening, behavior detection programs, employee security awareness training and deployment of portable screening equipment. In the News: Air travelers IDs now get another going-over

If you think wrenching off your shoes, dumping your pockets and having your backpack searched at the airport is cumbersome enough, there is a new security hurdle to clear. As you enter the security gauntlet at the mouth of the airport gate, a screener will be waiting with a handheld black light and a magnifying glass to determine whether your ID is fake. In the News: FirstLine’s superior screening operation recognized in passenger satisfaction report.

Kansas City International Airport (MCI) has been ranked highest by J.D. Power and Associates among medium-size airports in overall passenger satisfaction. The report singled out MCI's passenger security screening as a contributing factor to its high overall customer satisfaction rating. Click Here>>

In the News: Seeing KC airport makes a believer out of U.S. lawmaker.

U.S. Representative Sam Graves of Missouri and U.S. Representative John Mica of Florida, the top-ranking Republican on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, offered strong praise for security at Kansas City International Airport during a tour arranged by Airport Director Mark VanLoh. Although previously critical of the airport’s layout and the resulting staffing requirements, Mica praised KCI and its screening operation, provided by FirstLine Transportation Security under contract to the TSA. In the News: FirstLine Gets Full Operational Capability

FirstLine Transportation Security, Inc was certified for Full Operational Capability at Kansas City (Mo.) International Airport.

After a competitive bidding and selection process, FirstLine was selected as the contractor to continue providing screening services at Kansas City. The company then completed all requirements necessary to be considered as fully operationally capable to provide screening services comparable to all federal airports and other Screening Partnership Program airports.

In the News: SMS' FirstLine gets SAFETY Act designation

FirstLine Receives Safety Act Designation - In an announcement that has a significant impact for airports, the Department of Homeland Security has designated FirstLine Transportation Security's passenger and baggage screening services as anti-terrorist technology and further designated FirstLine as a seller of this technology under the provisions of the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) Act of 2002. This decision makes FirstLine the first and only private passenger and baggage screening company to receive the designation. Read More>>

In the News: U.S. Awards FirstLine Anti-terrorism Approval

Air Travelers Continue to Express High Confidence and Satisfaction - The Transportation Security Administration recently released the results of its second annual Customer Satisfaction Survey. The report, conducted by BearingPoint Inc. of McLean, VA generally gave high marks to both federal and private screeners for customer service and air travel security. Between 80 and 95 percent of the passengers surveyed gave positive responses when surveyed in eight aspects of the current screening process.  Read More>>
